Translucent glassine paper
Glassine paper is a smooth, shiny and translucent type of paper with a very stylish look. The paper has undergone a special treatment that flattens the paper fibres. The result is a glassy, translucent effect that resembles frosted glass. This is why glassine paper is also known as ‘frosted paper’. Transparency – a characteristic we generally associate with plastic – can, therefore, now also be achieved with paper. This give new possibilities for a neat, hygienic and eye-catching presentation of your snacks and fresh products.
Ideal for easily damaged products
Glassine paper bags are often used to package, store and protect easily damaged products such as soap, candles, postage stamps and special cards and books. Glassine is also ideal for packaging bakery products, nuts and other fresh food items. The paper is made from pure cellulose derived from wood. The food-safe material is translucent, antistatic, chlorine and acid free, odourless and tasteless, PH neutral and does not contain any plasticisers. Glassine paper is suitable for multiple use, fully recycleable (provided it is not completely contaminated by food residue) and compostable.
